College Visit with Thatcher
From Chicago to DC....we visited over 8 cities. Today I am going to share a little about Princeton New Jersey!

Princeton New Jersey
On our tour.. Matt and Thatcher asked me.. mom are you planning on applying? This was my first visit to Princeton and wow.. I was blown away. When you hear the name, you automatically picture the gorgeous Princeton University, right? And honestly, seeing it in person? Totally lives up to the reputation. Beyond its towering academic fame, Princeton boasts a rich history as a pivotal location in the American Revolution and a former capital of the nascent nation. Those elegant buildings are featured in one of my favorite books Take Ivy.
But what really stuck with me during my super short trip was how the town and the school just kind of… flow together. Instead of some big, stuffy wall, there's just this airy iron fence, like they're giving each other a friendly nod. And the town itself? I loved it!
Even though I only had a half-day to wander around, I was immediately caught up in the energy. There were so many restaurants and shops – it was actually a little frustrating knowing I couldn't check them all out! I could have easily spent hours just popping into different places.
Beyond the cool vibe, you can definitely feel the history in Princeton. I know there are tons of interesting spots I didn't even get close to seeing.
My quick trip to Princeton was a real surprise. It's way more than just a beautiful university; it's a lively town with its own cool personality. And speaking of those restaurants and shops, Palmer Square itself boasted some big names like Ralph Lauren, Hermes, and Barbour, but I also stumbled upon a few places I'm excited to tell you about!
This market blew my mind! The selection of snacks and fresh sushi was something I would find in Tokyo!
I found this amazing leather jacket at this vintage shop!
Have you ever been to Princeton? What did you think? Let me know in the comments! Onward! xoxo

Which of your bags are you toting around there? I can't tell for sure. It looks like the perfect size for some travel I have coming up. Merci.
I raised my family about 45 minutes from Princeton. And, my daughter graduated from Princeton University in 2004. Lucky me. I got to spend time on the campus and wandering that great town. There is a “hidden gem” in nearby Hamilton called The Grounds for Sculpture. It is filled with the amazing life-sized sculptures by J. Seward Johnson in garden settings. I highly recommend a visit there.
